I've spent a long time working on complex systems and with the people who rely on them. My focus has always been the same: make sure the people doing the work have what they actually need to do it well.

That looks different depending on the project — sometimes it's untangling a requirements process, sometimes it's making sure the right parts are in the right place, sometimes it's training that people can actually use. Whatever it is, I care more about whether it works in practice than whether it looks good on paper.

I've been on the receiving end of decisions made by people too far from the problem to understand it. That shapes how I approach everything.
